According to BuQu Tech, it has added the charging capability for the S4 into its line of protective cases, which use magnets to charge phones directly while in their protective cases. Marlin Equity Buys WorkOasisLos Angeles-based private equity firm WorkOasis has acquired WorkOasis, a developer of software-as-a-service products for work order, vendor and maintenance management, the company said this morning. Beats Electronics Buys Back Shares From HTCLos Angeles-based Beats Audio and smartphone maker HTC are in a deal where Beats will buy back 25% of its total shares from HTC, giving Beats a 75% ownership, in a move which pushes the two farther apart. According to the two, they move is a "realignment" of a business agreement, and that HTC will remain the largest outside shareholder in Beats, with approximately 25% of the company. INCIPIO Buys BRAVENIrvine-based mobile device accessory maker INCIPIO Technologies announced this morning that it has acquired fellow mobile accessory company BRAVEN. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. BRAVEN develops a line of portable Bluetooth speakers, speakerphones, and mobile phone chargers. According to Incipio, BRAVEN will remain at its location in Provo, Utah, and it will continue to maintain the BRAVEN brand as a separte product line.

Lynda.com Planning Big Television Ad PushLynda.com, the online training and learning service, is looking to ramp up awareness of its service with some television advertising, it appears. A media planning and buying company, Ocean Media, said today that it has been selected as the agency of record for Carpinteria-based Lynda.com, to help create and place cable television ads for the online training provider.

Everbridge Adds Severe Weather AlertsWildfire? Tornado? Hurricane? Glendale-based Everbridge, which provides cloud-based emergency alert systems, said this morning that it is adding severe weather alerts to its service, in a deal with weather content provider Weather Decision Technologies (WDT).
