UberMedia Names Sales VP
Pasadena-based mobile advertising firm UberMedia, one of the companies out of Idealab, said Thursday that it has named a new VP of Sales, covering the company's Eastern Region. The company--which runs UberAds, a mobile ad network which uses location, social, and interest information to help advertisers target ads--said that it has named Neil Shapiro as VP of Sales in the Eastern Region. Provide Commerce Buys Mobile Gifting Firm Sincerely
San Diego-based Provide Commerce, the company which owns such brands as ProFlowers, RedEnvelope, Gifts.com, and other e-commerce sites, announced this morning that it has purchase mobile gifting startup Sincerely, Inc. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Sincerely provides mobile photo postcard and greeting card apps for the iPhone and Android. GoCoin Raises $550,000 For BitCoin Purchases
Santa Monica-based GoCoin--one of the first BitCoin startups to emerge out of the Silicon Beach technology ecosystem--said today that it has raised $550,000 in a seed funding round, to develop a platform to enable the purchasing of good and services around the world with Bitcoin. deviantART Gets $10M From Autodesk
Los Angeles-based online social network for artists deviantART has raised $10M in a funding round from CAD software developer Autodesk, according to a regulatory filing from the firm. The site--which says it has 29 million registered members and 65 million unique visitors per month--offers up an online community where artists can upload and share their artwork with others. deviantART was founded by Scott Jarkoff, Matthew Stephens, Angelo Sotira, and was founded in August of 2000.

At The Pool Courts Millennials With New Social Discovery App
Los Angeles-based At The Pool, the social discovery service headed by Alex Capecelatro, has launched a brand new, mobile app it says is targeted at helping people to connect and interact. The startup said the new app was "built by millennials for millennials", and reinvents the way people connect and interact with one another. ImmunGene Raises $9M
Thousand Oaks-based ImmunGene, a startup biotech company developing antibody-based, protein therapeutics for treating cancer, said today that it has raised $9M in a Series A funding, to advance its early stage development products. According to the company, the funding came from Ally Bridge Group. The startup is led by Sanjay D. Khare, PhD, and includes a team from Amgen, Baxter, Genentech and Seattle Genetics. Velocify Launches New Tool On Salesforce.com's AppExchange

Santa Monica-based Convertro, the developer of marketing attribution software led by serial entrepreneur Jeff Zwelling, has rolled out a new tool, which it says helps marketers measure the return on investment from printed catalogs. Pathway Genomics Names Sales VP
San Diego-based genetic testing laboratory Pathway Genomics Corporation said this morning that it has named Robert C. Verfurth as its new Vice President of Sales. Verfuth has served at such companies as Innovus Pharmaceuticals, Dianon Systems (Acquired by LabCorp), Prometheus Laboratories (acquired by Nestle Health Science), GeneOh Sciences (acquired by Becton Dickinson), and the U.S. Air Force. Nonprofit Gets $1.3M To Reduce Solar Rooftop Costs
The California Center for Sustanable Energy (CCSE) said Wednesday that it has received $1.3 million in an award from the Department of Energy, as part of the DOE's latest SunShot Initiative Rooftop Solar Challenge II.
