MagnaCom Claims Communications Technology Leap
Laguna Nigel-based MagnaCom, a new startup headed by former Motorola Mobility SVP and GM Yossi Cohen, said this week that it has launched a new technology which it is a huge leap from existing, digital communications, involving the modulation of data for wired and wireless devices. NetDNA Becomes MaxCDN Enterprise
Los Angeles-based content delivery network provider MaxCDN said today that it has launched a new, enterprise CDN brand called MaxCDN Enterprise, to replace the company's former corporate name of NetDNA. The company said it is ending its NetDNA brand, tareting high volume CDN customers with its new MaxCDN Enterprise brand. Shop-Hers Snags Funding From Elevation
Los Angeles-based online luxury resale site Shop-Hers said Tuesday that it has raised a Series A funding round, which came from Elevation Partners, as well as others. Size of the funding round was not announced. The funding also included Floodgate, Ann Miura-Ko, David Tisch of the BOx Group, Aldo Manzini, Shana Fisher (High Line Venture Partners), and Mike Hirschland (Resolute.VC). Bitium In Two Partnerships
Santa Monica-based Bitium, the Amplify startup which is developing app management, single sign-on, and other cloud-based app tools, said Tuesday that it has linked up with two companies in partnerships. The company said it has partnered with Zapier and Mover, to allow its users to move data between applications and cloud services. Canvas Aims At Social Networks
Los Angeles-based Canvas, a stealth mode social networking startup, said this week that it is aiming at Facebook with a new service to let users share content, including audio, video, private messages, and more. The company--which has been mum about its founders--says it is looking for people who are "sick and tired of Facebook", and is looking to raise $500,000 on IndieGogo to fund the company--of which it has raised about $3,000. The company hopes to launch its service in summer of next year.

TowerJazz Gets $70M Credit Line
Newport Beach-based semiconductor foundry TowerJazz said early this morning that it has received a $70M, credit line from Wells Fargo Capital Finance, as part of an extention of an existing agreement wih Wells Fargo. According to TowerJazz, the new credit line extends an existing line of credit from $45M to $70M, and will help the company "achieve its strategic goals". Terms of the credit line were not announced.
