reQall Launches Context-Aware App For Sony Smartwatch
reQall, which develops intelligent assistance software which runs on such platforms as Google Glass, has launched a new app for the Sony SmartWatch, the company said this morning. BlueCava Gets $13M For Ad Technology
Irvine-based BlueCava, a developer of a cross-screen advertising platform, said Thursday that it has raised $13M in a new funding round. According to the company, the second round of funding came from S3 Ventures, Performance Edge Partners and Zeitgeist Capital. BlueCava helps companies manage targeting of consumers on smartphones, tablets, the Internet, and more. LeadBolt Debuts New Ad Technology For Mobile Apps
Los Angeles-based LeadBolt, which operates a mobile app promotion and advertising network, said this week that it has launched a new ad technology. The company said its new Floating Ad technology offers up advertising which resembles a mobile gaming app, and helps target users using a "game-like" experience. Ixia Reports Progress On Nasdaq Compliance
Calabasas-based network testing equipment and software maker Ixia said late Thursday that the company's plan to regain compliance on the Nasdaq has been accepted by the exchange. According to Ixia, the plan addresses a letter it received from the Nasdaq on November 19th over compliance issues, after Ixia failed to file a 10-Q for the quarter ended September 30th, 2013. The Gores Group Buys Slovenian Laser Maker
Los Angeles-based private equity investor The Gores Group has acquired a maker of high performance lasers for the medical, dental, and aesthetic medicine market, the company said Thursday. According to The Gores Group, it is buying a controlling interest in Fotona d.d., based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, via its Small Capitalization Partners investment fund. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. The Gores Group said it is making the purchase along with Technology4Medicine.

Auction.com Snags Adobe Veteran As VP
Irvine-based online real estate marketplace Auction.com anounced yesterday that it has named a former Adobe Systems VP as its new Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. The company said it has named Paul Weiskopf--formerly Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Adobe Systems--into the VP role, to help the company with its growth plans. Weiskopf also has served at Hewlett Packard, BenefitPoint, InsWeb, Accenture, and LEK.
