Realty Mogul Gets $9M For Real Estate Crowdfunding
Beverly Hills-based Realty Mogul, a startup which operates an online marketplace for pooling together investor funds to buy investment property, has raised $9M in a Series A funding, the company said this week. The funding was led by Canaan Partners. Realty Mogul is led by Jilliene Helman. Realty Mogul helps connect investors with real estate firms, accrediting investors and helping them to browse different investment opportunities.

2U Raises $120M In IPO
2U, an online education company which has significant operations in Los Angeles, has had a successful IPO on the NASDAQ Global Market, debuting Friday morning as TWOU. The company--which runs online degree programs for the University of Southern California (USC) and many other schools--had been backed by Redpoint Ventures, which funded the company out of its Los Angeles office. Fullscreen Buys Video Game Content Site ScrewAttack
Los Angeles-based Fullscreen, the video content network operator, said Friday that it has acquired video game media site ScrewAttack. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. According to Fullscreen, the acquisition will significantly increase its presence in the game industry news and entertainment space. Long Beach, BYD Motors Cancel Electric Bus Deal
Chinese electric car and bus manufacturer BYD Motors said Thursday that it has agreed to mutually terminate a contract with the Long Beach Transportation Company, for ten electric buses for the city. The withdrawal comes as a result of the Federal Transit Administration withdrawing funding due to issues over compliance with goals for purchasing from disadvantaged businesses. On-Ramp Wireless Taps Verizon Vets For Board, Advisory Seats

IDrive Adds Sync Feature
Los Angeles-based online cloud backup and storage provider IDrive said Thursday that it has added a new, file synchronization feature to its cloud backup and storage service. According to IDrive, the new Sync feature synchronizes files and changes instantly across all of a user's linked devices.
