Tennenbaum Capital Partners Names Exec
Santa Monica-based Tennenbaum Capital Partners said Monday that it has added Brad Pritchard as a new Managing Director at the company, focused on investments in the energy sector. The alternative investment management company said that Pritchard joins the company from Hercules Technology Growth Capital, and also served at Wells Fargo Securities, SG Cowen, Banc of America Securities and GE Capital.

Google Expands Same Day Shopping Service To Los Angeles
Google said over the weekend that it has expanded its same-day, shopping delivery service--Google Shopping Express--into the Los Angeles market, along with a similar expansion into New York, which will allow for same day delivery from local retailers to consumers in West Los Angeles. Google has been operating the service in beta until now in the San Francisco area. Tech Investor Pierce Makes Offer For Mt. Gox
Brock Pierce, the Southern California technology investor and Bitcoin mogul, is leading a group of investors looking to take over failed Bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox -- in exchange for a single Bitcoin. UberMedia Raises $8M More
Pasadena-based UberMedia, the provider of mobile advertising technology, announced this morning that it has raised $8M in a funding round. The funding came from Gordon Crawford and Blue Chip Ventures, as well as others. Crawford is a member of the board of Lionsgate Entertainment, and previously was a portfolio manager at Capital Research and Management. Cirro Lands Strategic Investment From GE Ventures
Aliso Viejo-based Cirro, a developer of enterprise,d ata integration and analysis software, announced this morning that it has received a strategic investment from GE Ventures. The company said the strategic funding ronud came as part of its Series A funding round, which it had announced in October. Cirro did not detail the amount of the investment from GE Ventures. Ceres Expands Production In Mexico
Thousand Oaks-based agricultural biotechnology developer Ceres, which is developing biotech-driven sorghum seeds for use in reneable fuel and electricity production, said it has expanded its product develoment activities in Meixco. According to the company, it has opened up a new sorghum research site in the Mexican state of Jalisco, which will bs used for developing parental breeding lines, evaluating hybrids, and other research efforts. Qualcomm Taps Unilever Veteran For New Board Member
San Diego-based Qualcomm announced this morning that it has tapped Harish Manwani--the current Chief Operating Officer at Unilver PLC--as a new board member. Manwani has been at Unilever since 1976--since he joined as a low level, management trainee in India. Qualcomm said that Manwani has more than 35 years of experience in the consumer product and global management area. Manwani also sites on the boards of Whirlpool Corporation and Pearson plc.

Millennium Laboratories Names Three Executives
San Diego-based Millennium Laboratories, which is developing technology around medication monitoring and pharmacogenetics, said today that it has named three new executives. The company named Nikhil A. Nayak as chief marketing officer; Steven K. Soe as chief compliance officer; and Michael E. Flowers as vice president, government operations. Nayak was previously at Forest Laboratories; Soe was most recently at AsureRx Health; and Flowers had been at Walgreens.
