OpenGate Capital Buys Latin American System Integrators
Los Angeles-based private equity investor OpenGate Capital reported Monday that it has acquired two, Latin American information technology system integrators. OpenGate Capital said it acquired the shares of Damovo Mexico SA de CV and Damovo Do Brasil SA, from parent the Damovo Group. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. Adtile Technologies Raises $4.5M
San Diego-based Adtile Technologies, a mobile ad technology company led by Nils Forsblom, has raised $4.5M in a Series A funding. The company did not announce the names of investors in the round. The company develops interactive, mobile ads which it says use things like motion capture to make mobile ads more user friendly, meaningful, and engaging. Adtile is the latest incarnation of TenFarms, a mobile app development company founded by Forsblom.

Qualcomm, Greylock Return To Back 3D, Room Scanning Startup
San Diego-based Qualcomm Ventures and active Southern California investor Greylock Partners have both put more money behind Matterport, a developer of interior, 3D room scanning technology. Matterport said Monday morning that it has raised $16M in a Series B funding, which included former investors Qualcomm and Greylock Partners, and which was led by DCM Ventures. Disney Accelerator Names First Class

Oculus Buys Raknet
Irvine-based virtual reality technology developer Oculus VR--which is now owned by Facebook--has acquired Raknet, a developer of middleware for multiplayer, videogame development. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Raknet (AKA Jenkins Software) is based in Aliso Viejo. Raknet's C++ networking engine is specifically aimed at game developers, helping them to synchronize gameplay across multiple machines and devices.

Newport Media Acquired By Atmel For $140M
Lake Forest-based Newport Media, which develops low power Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chipsets, has been acquired by Atmel, in a deal worth $140M in cash. According to Atmel, it will use the buy to strengthen its position in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) market. The deal also includes up to $30M more in earn out, based on future revenue thresholds. ACTIVE Network Moves To Texas
In another blow to San Diego's technology industry, ACTIVE Network, the sports and recreation registration provider, said late Thursday that it is moving its headquarters to Dallas, Texas. According to ACTIVE Network, the transition will take place over the coming year. Active Network said it will continue to maintain a San Diego presence. UST Global Buys Four Companies, Makes Investments
Aliso Viejo-based UST Global, a provider of IT services and outsourcing, said today that it has acquired four different companies over the past six months expanding its workforce in the US, Asia, India, Europe, and Latin America.
