Sonos Ties Into SoundCloud
Santa Barbara-based music system maker Sonos continues to extend out the number of online music streaming services it supports, saying Thursday that it has added a beta connection to Soundcloud. Sonos said its partnership with SoundCloud will give its users access to SoundCloud's original music service, which allows both new and established artists to distribute their music to users. DoubleBeam Powers Mobile Shopping App
Pasadena-based DoubleBeam, the payment startup led by Ted Tekippe said today that it is powering the developer of a mobile, beacon-enabled shopping app called Slyde. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. DoubleBeam said that Slyde is using its GoPago point-of-sale (POS) system to power its app for providing retailers with a way to attract customers with real-time, beacon-based offers. Goodie Goodie Looks To Motivate Kids, Help Parents

MabVax Raises $3M, Completes Merger With Telik
San Diego-based MabVax Therpauetics, a privately held firm which is developing vaccine and antibody therapies for treating cancer, said it has raised $3M in a financing round, and also completed a merger with oncology drug developer Telik. MabVax said the investment came from accredited investors, and was managed by H.C. Wainwright & Co., LLC, Palladium Capital Advisors LLC and Dawson James Securities. MabVax said that it has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Telik in an all-stock transaction.

Vitesse Aims New Product At Gigabit Wi-Fi
Camarillo-based semiconductor maker Vitesse has taken aim at the Gigabit Wi-Fi, 802.11ac market this week, with a new Ethernet switch product. Vitesse said its latest family of chips--the SparX-IV family, are a set of Ethernet switches specifically aimed at supporting 802.11ac WLAN Enterprise deployments. VoiceVault Takes On Voice Biometrics With SDK
El Segundo-based VoiceVault, a developer of biometrics technology, said this week that it has released a new software development kit to help developers add voice biometrics on their mobile apps. The company said its ViGo platform offers up such features as phrase or digit voice registration, and support for both Android and iOS. Pricing on the product was not announced. The 15-person company is led by Andrew Lawson.
