CheckAlt Wins Another Credit Union
Los Angeles-based payment processing technology provider CheckAlt has signed up another customer, Energy Capital Credit Union, according to the company. Financial impact of the win was not announced. CheckAlt--which is led by Shai Stern--develops Check 21 payment processing products, used for capture of paper checks and other payment transactions by financial institutions.

Dealflicks Raises $1.7M
Los Angeles- and San Francisco-based Dealflicks, an online service which offers up discounted movie tickets to help theater chains fill empty seats, has raised $1.7M in a seed funding. The company disclosed Monday that the funding came from 500 Startups, Siemer Ventures, Archer Gray, Rubicon VC, Wefunder, Be Great Partners, Rosepaul Investments, Mogility Capital, Sierra Maya Ventures, and Warner Brothers, along with angels. Allergan To Cut 1500 Jobs
Allergan said this morning that it is cutting 1,500 jobs, or approximately 13 percent of its headcount, as part of a restructuring effort. The cuts come as part it battles an unsolicited takeover bid by Valeant Pharmaceuticals. Allergan has around 2,300 employees in Irvine, where it is headquartered. According to Allergan, the cuts will save the company approximately $475M in calendar year 2014. Ayannah Gets $1M More
Ayannah, the mobile payment and remittance startup which is focused on unbanked consumers in the Phillipines and other emerging markets, has raised $1M more in funding, the company disclosed this morning. The startup--which is backed by Siemer Ventures, and has ties to Southern California--receive funding from IMJ Investment Partners, Beenos, Siemer Ventures, and Golden Gate Ventures. Ayannah has offices in Laguna Hills, but is based in Pasiq City, the Philippines.

Fullscreen Launches Live Festival
Los Angeles-based Fullscreen, the YouTube multi-channel-network (MCN), is going live, saying that it has launched a live, "interactive social festival" which will feature YouTube and Vine stars. Fullscreen says it has tied with festival producer Kevin Lyman and 4Fini, which runs the Warped Tour, to launch INTOUR, a social festival which will feature live performances, music, games, and more from those YouTube stars. Broadcom Gets Win In India
Irvine-based semiconductor maker Broadcom reported a win today for its cable chipsets, saying that its DOCSIS 3.0 chipset is behind a new broadband deployment in India. Broadcom said its chips are being used by Hathway Cable and Telecom, which Broadcom says is India's largest cable broadband service providers. Financial impact of the deal were not disclosed. The high speed, cable technology is being used for broadband and streaming HD content to devices in the home.

Leadbolt Launches Mobile Advertising Exchange
Los Angeles-based Leadbolt, the app discovery and monetization startup led by Dale Carr, said today that it has launched a new mobile ad marketplace. Leadbolt said the new ad exchange is called Leadbolt Connect, and will allow mobile app developers and marketers to to connect on ad campaign offerings. The company said its marketplace will offer more transparency, flexibility and control than traditional blind-networks, with a focus on delivering better quality than RTB platforms.

RFaxis Ramps Chip Production
Irvine-based semiconductor developer RFaxis reports this morning that it has ramped up production of a new chip, focused on the Zigbee and Internet of Things (IoT) market. The company said it is ramping production of its RFX1010 Braodband CMOS RFeIC, which is a CMOS RF Front-end Integrated Circuit (RFeIC) which is used in 802.11ah and ZigBee designs. The company said the chips are aimed at supporting such things as wireless mesh networking products for the Internet-Of-Things and similar designs.
