RadPad Gets $2M
Los Angeles-based mobile rental marketplace app developer Radpad said Tuesday that it has raised $2M in a funding round, which came from existing investors SG VC, L.P., Social Leverage L.P. and Michael Huffington, along with new investors Queensbridge Venture Partners (led by Nasir “Nas” Jones and Anthony Saleh) and Happy Walters (co-president of Relativity Media). Ixia Targets 100GbE Development
Calabasas-based network testing equipment provider Ixia is targeting 100GbE technology development, saying this morning that it has added new support for the high speed networking protocol on a number of its products. Ixia said it added the 100GbE support on its Xcellon Multis and Xcellon-Lava portfolio of products. The testing equipment is aimed at network equipment manufacturers, who use the equipment for networking testing and emulation.

Technocel Expands In SoCal, Plans Hiring
Simi Valley-based Technocel, a developer of mobile accessories--and the parent company of investment company TYLT Lab--has opened up a new headquarters in Simi Valley, and plans to hire approximately 40 new employees, the company said this morning. BeachMint Merges With Conde Nast's Lucky
Los Angeles-based e-commerce website operator Beachmint is merging with Lucky, the shopping and fashion publication title owned by Conde Nast, creating a new company called The Lucky Group, the companies said Monday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The new company will be headed by Beachmint's Josh Berman. Newegg Expands In Asia, Europe
Los Angeles-based e-commerce retailer Newegg said this morning that it is in a major expansion in both Asia and Europe, and has launched new, multilingual websites in India, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland and Singapore. According to NewEgg, the new websites are its first foray beyond the U.S., Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. Cornerstone OnDemand Wins Hyatt
Santa Monica-based software developer Cornerstone OnDemand said today that it has scored a win with hotel and hospitality brand Hyatt. Cornerstone said that Hyatt will use its cloud-based talent management software for performance management, compensation, performance reviews, and other employee management efforts. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed.

ViaSat Claims Win In Contract, Patent Case
Carlsbad-based satellite communications technology developer ViaSat claimed a win in court today, saying that a federal court judge has upheld a jury verdict against Space Systems/Loral. That earlier verdict found Space Systems/Loral had breached a contract with ViaSat, and infringed on its patents, and ordered Space Systems/Loral to pay $283M in damages to ViaSat.
