TigerText Enhances Secure Mobile Messaging App

Impact Radius Expands In New York
Santa Barbara-based Impact Radius, which develops marketing analytics software aimed at optimizing ad spend across digital, mobile, and offline channels, said Tuesday that it has expanded in New York City, opening up a new office on Madison Avenue. DB Networks Finds $17M For Network Security Software
Carlsbad-based DB Networks, a developer of cyber security software aimed at corporate networks, has raised $17M in a funding round, the company said this morning. The funding was led by Grotech Ventures, and also included Khosla Ventures and Citi Ventures. According to DB Networks, Grotech's Joe Zell joins the company's board with the funding. Fuhu Plans Streaming Service For Nabi Tablet
Los Angeles-based Fuhu, the maker of the popular nabi children's tablets, is planning a big launch into the streaming movie, music, and media market this week, according to reports. Snapchat Snags Investment Banker For Strategy Position
Venice-based messaging app developer Snapchat has hired a high profile, technology investment banker onto its team, the company disclosed Monday. Snapchat has hired Imran Khan, who had most recently been head of Internet banking at Credit Suisse, as its Chief Startegy Officer. Khan has worked on IPOs of Alibaba, Zalando, King Digital, Weibo, and Jumei, and also had served at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. as an analyst.

Western Digital Pays $100K To Resolve Chinese Compliance Issue
Irvine-based Western Digital reported this morning that it has paid $100,000 and restructured a department, in order to put to rest two, non-compliance matters raised by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), related to WD's acquisition of HGST back in 2012. Western Digital currently had been ordered by MOFCOM to keep its HGST operations as a separate, independent competitor as part of MOFCOM's approval of the company's acquisition of HGST, for at least two years. RealD In Technology Licensing Deal
Los Angeles-based 3D movie projection technology developer RealD said today that it has licensed some of its technology to theater screen manufacturer Harkness Screens International Limited. Los Angeles-based CurbStand, the venture-backed developer of valet parking apps, said this morning that it has named Ethan Kravitz as its Chief Technology Officer, and Frank Mastronuzzi as Chief Financial Officer.
