17 Media Raises $10M For Photo, Video Streaming App For Celebs
Los Angeles- and Taipei, Taiwan-based 17 Media announced Thursday that it has raised $10M in a Series A funding, for the company's video and photo streaming app specifically aimed at entertainers, celebrities, and influencers. The funding was led by Infinity Venture Partners and Prometheus Capital, and also included angels Lawrence Ng (Oversee.net); Jaime Lin (AppWorks), and Xu Le (High Level Limited). MarketShare Partners Acquired For $450M
Los Angeles-based MarketShare Partners, the marketing analytics technology developer led by Wes Nichols and Jon Vein, has been acquired by Neustar, in a deal worth $450M. According to Neustar, Marketshare generated $57M in revenues for the twelve months ended September 30, 2015. MarketShare was venture backed by FTV Capital, Elevation Partners, along with others. Interlude Gets Strategic Investment From Samsung
Interlude, a video-based, media and technology company with operations in Los Angeles, which says it has created a video technology which responds to a person's emotions and interests, has raised a strategic funding from Samsung Ventures. Size of that investment were not disclosed. interlude, led by Yoni Bloch, says it is developing a platform which creates a more interactive, video experience for viewers. Beyond Meat Bolsters Board With McDonald's Vet
El Segundo-based Beyond Meat, a startup which is developing plant-based, protein alternatives to meat, said Thursday that it has named Don Thompson, the former CEO of McDonald's, to its board. TicketManager Gets $20M
Calabasas-based TicketManager, the developer of entertainment and sports ticket management software, said Thursday morning that it has raised $20M in a Series B funding round. The funding came from Kayne Partners and Point Judith Capital. The company said it will use the funding to expand into new markets and accelerate growth. Biological Dynamics Finds $26.8M For Cancer Diagnostics
San Diego-based molecular diagnostics startup Biological Dynamics announced this morning that it has raised $26.8M in a Series C financing. The funding included Heritage Group, Alexandria Venture Investment, and Irwin Jacobs, the co-founder of Qualcomm. According to Biological Dynamics, the round was led by an un-named, large institutional investor associated with a major university. Nimble, Owler Link Up On Company Profiles
Santa Monica-based customer relationship management software provider Nimble>, and company information provider Owler said this morning that the two are in a strategic partnership, where Nimble will use content from Owler's company profiles, within its browser plugin. The two said the integration will bring over 15 million company profiles, with information such as revenue, CEO, and industry information into Nimble. Howard Marks Takes On United Online With Dissident Shareholders Group

Semtech Selected For IoT Network In India
Camarillo-based analog and mixed signal semiconductor developer Semtech announced today that its LoRa technology has been selected to power an Internet-of-Things (IoT) network in India.
