3BLACKDOT Gets Funding From Legendary Entertainment
Los Angeles-based 3BLACKDOT, which develops mobile entertainment titles, has raised a round of strategic funding from Legendary Entertainment. Size of the funding was not announced. 3BLACKDOT is the developer of mobile game Zombie Killer Squad, among other titles. The company is led by Angelo Pullen. The company's founders had previously been at Machinima. 3BLACKDOT is behind its own MCN, Jetpak.

Triton Digital Wins NPR
Los Angeles-based audio advertising technology provider Triton Digital reports this morning that it has signed on NPR as a customer. According to Triton Digital, NPR will use its Tap Podcast solution for distribution and monetization of its content. Financial details of the win were not announced. Triton Digital's software adds dynamic -re-roll, mid-roll, and post-roll audio ads to podcasts.

Atom Tickets Raises $50M For Mobile Ticketing Apps
Santa Monica-based Atom Tickets, the developer of a mobile app which lets users find and buy movie tickets for groups, has raised $50M in a funding round, the company disclosed over the weekend. The funding came from Lionsgate, which led the investment, along with The Walt Disney Company and Fox. Atom Tickets was founded by Ameesh Paleja, Matthew Bakal, and Geoff Schaevitz. Mattel Buys Nabi Maker Fuhu, Sproutling
El Segundo-based Mattel said late Friday that it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Fuhu, the maker of the Nabi children's tablets, as well as smart technology maker Sproutling. Financial terms of the two acquisition were not announced. Mattel said the two acquisition will help it strengthen its digital and smart technology capabilities. Illumina Signs Four New Customers
San Diego-based life sciences equipment provider Illumina says it has signed four new customers, all biobanks, to use its next generation sequencing equipment. According to Illumina, Vanderbilt University, University of Colorado at Denver, Partners HealthCare, and Montreal Heart Institute will all use its products to advance personalized medicine and improve health care. Financial impact of the customer wins was not announced.

Glaukos Starts Commercial Sales Of New Device In Canada
Laguna-based opthalmic device maker Glaukos said today that it has begun direct sales and commercial launch in Canada of its newiStent inject Trabecular Micro-Bypass Stent devices. The devices, which are used to treat glaucoma, had already been approved by Health Canada.
