SpaceX's Falcon 9 Launches Successfully On Satellite Mission
Hawthorne-based SpaceX successfully lifted off from Cape Canaveral on Friday afternoon, at 6:35 p.m. ET, in the Falcon 9's 22nd mission to space. The mission will deliver a payload for satellite communications operator SES, and its SES-9 satellite. The launch--which was webcast live by SpaceX--is the fourth try to launch the SES-9 to space, after several aborted attempts over the last week. Fourth Time A Charm? SpaceX Aims At Friday Launch
Hawthorne-based SpaceX is hoping the fourth time is the charm, with plans to attempt yet another launch of its SES-9 mission on Friday afternoon. SpaceX, which scrubbed the third attempt at a launch earlier this week due to a combined alarm and incursion of a boat into the launch area at Cape Canaveral, is hoping to finally launch its Falcon-9 at 6:35 p.m. EST. UCLA Gets $1.14 Billion For Rights To Cancer Drug
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) has sold the royalty rights to a prostate cancer medication based on research done at the school, for a cool $1.14 billion, the school said Friday afternoon. According to UCLA, it sold its royalty interest connected with prostate cancer medication Xtandi to Royalty Pharma, which includes cash payments of $1.14 billion and potential, additional payments based on future sales. Report: Snapchat Raises $175M More
Venice-based instant messaging app maker Snapchat has raised another $175M in funding, according to the WSJ this morning, from Fidelity Investments. According to the report, the new funding values Snapchat at $16 billion, the same valuation as the company's last funding injection. Snapchat has now raised more than $1.2 billion in funding.

Uber, Capital One Offer Up Free Rides To Customers In LA This Weekend
Uber and Capital One said today that they are offering up four, free rides to each of its customers in Los Angeles through UberPOOL, starting today and running through Sunday, March 6th. According to the companies, users who use Capital One's cards over the next three days just need to add the promo code CAPITALONEPOOL for a free ride, in Los Angeles, as well as a number of other major cities. UberPOOL is Uber's service where users share a ride with others going in the same direction.

Pryme Links Into Voice App Maker Zello
Brea-based two-way radio accessories maker Pryme has likned up into the app age, saying that it has inked a partnership with mobile app maker Zello, to offer up wireless Bluetooth audio products for Zello's two way "walkie-talkie" app. Zello's app turns any smartphone into a walkie talkie, letting users communicate using push-to-talk (PTT) like you would with a traditional two way radio, and allowing for group conversations. Chrome River Links Into Uber For Expense Reports
Los Angeles-based expense management and invoice processing software developer Chrome River says it has linked up its systems with Uber, letting Uber automatically send ride information directly into expense reports. Chrome River says the integration means all rides taken for business on Uber, including a receipt image, are now sent to Chrome River at the same time a receipt is sent to a user directly. The integration comes thanks to the "Uber for Business" program run by Uber.
