Edge Music Network Aims At Music Fans
Newport Beach-based Edge Music is aiming a new, streaming music service which offers up music audio ad videos, saying it has the backing of Universal, Capitol Records, Def Jam and Geffen, plus John Paul DeJoria; VH1 Classic founder, Eric Sherman; Aerosmith lead singer, Steven Tyler; The Who lead singer, Roger Daltrey; and Queen drummer, Roger Taylor. CrowdStrike Exec Gets White House Appointment
Irvine-based cybersecurity software developer CrowdStrike said that Steven Chabinsky, its General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer, has been appointed by the President to the Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity. Chabinsky joins 11 others in an effort to help bolster cybersecurity both in the government and private sector. DTS Links Into Microsoft Azure Cloud
Calabasas-based audio processing technology developer DTS is linking into Microsoft's cloud computing service, Microsoft Azure, according to the company. According to DTS, its content encoding technology will be available via the cloud through Microsoft Azure's Media Encoder Premium service. The link means that streaming services can use the cloud to output DTS surround sound content in 4K Ultra HD on the XBOX One, Samsung TVs, and other platforms. AnaptysBio Names Chief Scientific Officer
San Diego-based antibody development company AnaptysBio has named Matthew Moyle, Ph.D., as its Chief Scientific Officer, the company said this morning. Moyle was previously VP of Biotherapeutics at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, and was SVP R&D and CSO at Theraclone Sciences, VP of Research at Tanox, and also served at Amgen, Corvas and Genentech.

ViaSat Gets FAA Approval For Installations On The Airbus A320
San Diego-based satellite technology developer ViaSat has received FAA approval to install its Ka-band antennas on the Airbus A320, the company said this morning. ViaSat said it received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval from the FAA to install its advanced Ka-band satellite antenna and radome on Airbus A320 aircraft, which will expand the number of aircraft it can install its new high speed Internet service onto. Qualcomm In Patent Deal With Yulong
San Diego-based Qualcomm has entered into a Chinese patent licensing agreement with Yulong Computer Telecommunication Scientific (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., covering its 3G and 4G patents, according to the company. Qualcomm said the royalty-bearing patent license covers development, manufacturing, and sales of 3G WCDMA and CDMA2000 and 4G LTE terminals in China.
