Semtech Sells Off Unit To Rambus
Camarillo-based analog and mixed signal semiconductor developer Semtech Corporation said on Monday that it has agreed to divest its Snowbush intellectual property (IP) business--which develops designs for high speed serial networking interfaces--to Rambus. Semtech said Rambus will pay $32.5M in cash, along with a future royalty through 2022 based on sales. Event Farm Raises $2.6M In Series A
Los Angeles-based Event Farm, which provides an enterprise, event marketing product which helps event organizers with invites, guest registration, and more, recently raised $2.6M in a Series A funding. The funding brings their total to over $4M. The startup was founded by Ryan Costello. The company offers up its software via subscription. Source of that funding, which occurred earlier this year, was not announced.

ERP Power Names New Board Member
Moorpark-based ERP Power, the manufacturer of solid state lighting power supplies and LED drivers which was just acquired by Angeles Equity Partners, said today that it has named Jeffrey Frank to its board of directors. Frank previously has served at GE Power Electronics, Lineage Power, Cherokee International, Lambda LEI, and Deltec Electronics. American Airlines Switches To ViaSat
American Airlines has selected Carlsbad-based satellite Internet provider ViaSat for a major deployment on its fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, in what is a major win for Viasat, the two said late Friday. Financial details of the win were not disclosed, however, the two said that American's new fleet of Boeing 737 MAX will go into service with ViaSat's in-flight internet systems, starting in September of 2017. KnuEdge, Backed By $100M, Launches Voice Recognition Software
San Diego-based KnuEdge, a startup which was founded by former NASA administrator Dan Goldin, said this morning that it has unveiled its voice recognition and authentication technology--which it has developed with $100M in funding. Netflix To Launch New, Original Content From India
Online movie and television streaming provider Netflix, which has significant operations in Los Angeles, is launching its first, ever original series from the country of India. Netflix said today that it is filming a new, Netflix original series, based on the novel Sacred Games, by Indian author Vikram Chandra. Netflix said the series will be filmed in Hindi and English, and will be available to its members globally when filmed. The new series will be produced in partnership with Phantom Films. ViaSat Wins Zetta Jet
Carlsbad-based satellite connectivity provider ViaSat has scored a win with private airline Zetta Jet, the two companies said this morning, with ViaSat providing in-flight Internet services on Zetta Jet's Bombardier aircraft. According to the companies, ViaSat will provide global, in-flight Internet services to customers, supporting everything from live video streaming to video conferencing and voice-over-IP calls. Acuant Buys AssureTec
Los Angeles-based Acuant, a developer of identity management and identity verification technology, said this morning that it has acquired AssureTec Technologies, a provider of identity, document authentication, and data capture products. Digital Networks Group Acquired By Telerent Leasing
Aliso Viejo-based Digital Networks Group, a provider of AV and IT integration for the healthcare, education, and government sector, has been acquired by Raliegh, North Carolina-based Telerent Leasing Corporation.
