PureSpectrum Gets $1.6M
Westlake Village-based PureSpectrum, a startup which operates an online marketplace to help buyers collect survey panels, has raised $1.6M in a funding round, according to the company. The funding came from multiple, un-named strategic partners. The company was founded by Michael McCrary. PureSpectrum is part of the Hub101 startup incubator space in Westlake Village, which is part of the Cal Lutheran University Center for Entrepreneurship.

Cal Net Technology Group Acquires inhouseIT
Chatsworth-based Cal Net Technology Group, a provider of IT support services, has acquired Orange County-based b>inhouseIT, according to Cal Net Technology's investors, including Boathouse Capital and Olympic Valley Capital. Cal Net Technology Group had quietly announced the deal to its customers at the end of July. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Cal Net Technology's CEO is James Hwang.

OpenMail Gobbles Up Infospace
Venice, California-based OpenMail has completed its deal to acquire online search engine site Infospace, from owner Blucora. The deal, which was announced in July, was worth $45M in cash. OpenMail is led by former Demand Media executive Chuck Ursini, and is developing data warehousing products in the marketing analytics and targeting area. Infospace has been around since 1996.

Samsung Electronics Buys Dacor
Samsung Electronics America, the U.S.-based arm of Samsung Electronics, said late Wednesday that it is acquiring luxury home appliance maker Dacor, which is based in Southern California. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Dacor is based in Industry, California, which encompasses parts of Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Inland Empire. Flipagram Links With SoundHound
Los Angeles-based Flipagram, which develops mobile video apps which let users create slideshows that sync up with your favorite songs, said it has linked up with SoundHound. According to the two companies, users searching for songs can create a Flipagram with any song found through SoundHound's app, as part of a new partnership. Snapchat Takes Down Another Offensive Selfie Filter
Venice-based Snapchat has taken down a new so-called "yellowface" selfie-filter from its service, which had allowed users to superimpose squinted eyes and buck teeth on their images. The filter was removed after widespread complaint from Asian users over the filter, which some users on Twitter called the "most overtly racist filter ever". Yardi Wins Customer In Oregon
Santa Barbara-based Yardi has scored a customer win in Oregon, with commercial property management company Melvin Mark Companies. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Melvin Mark Companies is using Yardi's Commercial LeasingPad software, which is used for customer relationship management and deal tracking.
