Jaunt Studios, Sundance Institute Link On VR Program
Jaunt Studios, the content production arm of virtual reality hardware and software developer Jaunt VR, says it has linked up with the Sundance Institute, and will run a six month "VR Residency Program", which will help artists make their own virtual reality short films. Jaunt Studios--which is based in Los Angeles--said it ahs selected Daniel Arsham, Yung Jake, and Lily Baldwin & Saschka Unseld as the three artists to kick off the program. Newegg In Big College Marketing Push
Los Angeles-based online technology retailer Newegg is in a big push to reach out to students on college campuses, saying on Thursday that it plans to visit over 80 universities, as school gets under way. According to Newegg, its new two month "Newegg College Tour" will feature a 10x20 foot tent, live DJ, gaming lounge, and chance to enter an e-sports tournament, as well as chances to win prizes. Newegg sells both technology products, but also new and used textbooks through its site.

Kite Pharma Advisors Get Award
Santa Monica-based Kite Pharma said today that two of its key advisors and scientific collaborators have won a big award. According to Kite Pharma, Stephen A. Rosenberg, M.D., Ph.D., who is Chief of Surgery at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and special advisor to Kite, plus Zelig Eshhar, Ph.D., Professor emeritus from the Weizmann Institute of Science and member of Kite’s scientific advisory board, have both been selected for the Novartis Prize for Clinical Immunology, for their research (More info...)
