GOAT Gets $5M For Sneaker Marketplace
Los Angeles-based GOAT, a new startup which lets people buy and sell sneakers via a mobile marketplace, said on Monday that it has raised $5M in a funding round. The funding was led by Matrix Partners, and also included Upfront Ventures and Webb Investment Network. Josh Hannah of Matrix Partners joins the company's board with the funding. How Fuhu Went From A Hot, Fast Growing Startup To Train Wreck
Remember Los Angeles-based kids tablet maker Fuhu? The company went from a hot startup--with over $200M in sales and 400 employees--to bankruptcy, in less than two years. The Los Angeles Times dissects the implosion of Fuhu, which once had hoped for an IPO, and was later sold to Mattel for a mere $21.5M out of bankruptcy. Fuhu was once the fastest growing startup in Los Angeles.

OpenX, Meredith Expands Header Bidding Partnership
Los Angeles-based OpenX, the programmatic advertising marketplace operator, said this morning that it has extended a partnership with Meredith Local Media Group. The two said the expansion covers both desktop and mobile peroperties for Meredith Local. Meredith has 17 owned or operated television stations across the U.S., reaching over 12 million U.S. households.

Vroozi Raises $4M For Procurement Software
Los Angeles-based Vroozi, a developer of cloud-based, B2B procurement software, has raised $4M in a funding round, the company said this morning. The funding was led by Ally Holdings. The startup, led by Steve Olds, said the funding will go towards growing its sales organization, as well as for development efforts.

Science Inc. Backs Plowz & Mowz With $1.5M
Los Angeles-based startup studio Science Inc. has backed a startup, Plows & Mowz offering up an on-demand marketplace for snow plowing and lawn care. According to Plowz & Mowz, it has raised $1.5M in a funding round, which came from Science plus undisclosed angels. Plowz & Mowz is based in Syracuse, New York, and is led by Wills Mahoney. Masimo Aims At Zika Virus Market
Irvine-based life sciences equipment maker Masimo, in a bit to drum up business in areas affected by the Zika virus, says it will offer up its continous hemoglobin monitoring (SpHb) products at a discount in areas where the blood supply has been affected by the virus. The company says its equipment has been shown to reduce blood transfusions in both low and high blood loss surgery. Lieberman Software Links With Okta
Los Angeles-based authentication and identity management software developer Lieberman Software announced today that it has integrated its software with authentication software developer Okta. Lieberman's Enterprise Random Password Manager (ERPM) software offers up multi-factor authentication services. American LegalNet Wins Customer
Los Angeles-based legal software developer American LegalNet is reporting a new customer win this morning, with law firm Blank Rome LLP. American LegalNet said Blank Rome LLP has purchased its eDockets court-rules-based calendaring and docketing systems software, as well as Docket Direct local/federal court feeds and Smart Dockets court date calculator app. Financial impact of the win was not announced. American LegalNet is led by Erez Bustan.
