AeroVironment Gets Win In Australia
Monrovia, California-based AeroVironment reported a win in Australia, with the Australian Armed Forces, for its Wasp AE Micro Air Vehicle (RQ-12A), the company said on Monday. Financial impact of the win was not announced. AeroVironment said the win came in conjunction with Australia-based XTEK, Sentient Vision and General Dynamics (GD) Mediaware. AeroVironment's RQ-12A is a 2.8 pound aerial vehicle with color and infrared video capability. AeroVironment also has offices in Simi Valley.

Fulgent Genetics Files For IPO
Temple City-based Fulgent Genetics, based in the San Gabriel Valley, has filed for an IPO, saying that it is seeking to raised $50M in an IPO on the NASDAQ Global Market as FLGT. The IPO is being underwritten by Credit Suisse, Piper Jaffray, Raymond James, and BTIG. Fulgent Genetics is developing genetic testing and laboratory testing technology, and is led by Ming Hsieh, who holds the majority shares in the company. Everbridge Sets IPO Range
Everbridge, the developer of mass notification, incident management, and other related software tools, which has offices in Pasadena and Glendale, has set the estimated trading range for its IPO, saying it expects to sell 7,500,000 shares of its common stock at between $11.00 and $13.00 per share. The company--which was started in Glendale, but now has its headquarters in Massachusetts--has applied to list on the NASDAQ Global Market as EVBG. ROX Medical Gets $40M Funding
San Clemente-based ROX Medical, a startup developing medical devices to treat hypertension, has raised $40M in a Series E funding, the company said this morning. The funding was led by Novartis Venture Fund and Apple Tree Partners and also included prior investors Versant Ventures and Domain Associates. Qualcomm, AT&T Link On Wireless Drone Communications
San Diego-based Qualcomm and AT&T announced this morning that the two will test the control of unmanned aerial vehicles using AT&T's 4G LTE network. The two said the effort will go to see how cellular networks can support future, wide scale deployment of drones, measuring coverage, signal, strength and mobility across network cells, to support the ability of drones to fly well beyond an operator's visual range. Masimo Rolls Out Wearable Device At Apple Stores
Irvine-based medical device maker Masimo, best known for providing its pulse oximeters in the healthcare and medical devices market, is making a crossover into the retail wearables market today, saying that it has launched a new device at the Apple Store. Brain Corp. Aims At Commercial Market With Robotic Floor Cleaners

Smith Micro Raises $4M
Aliso Viejo-based software developer Smith Micro Software announced this morning that it has raised $4M in funding, via a note and warrant financing. The funding came from Unterberg Koller Capital Fund L.P., plus William W. and Dieva L. Smith. William Smith is the current CEO and founder of Smith Micro Software. Activision Sets Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta Launch
Santa Monica-based Activision said over the weekend that it plans to launch its beta of the next expansion to its popular game, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, into a multiplayer, beta launch, on October 14th. The company--which ran its big Call of Duty gathering, the Call of Duty XP event, at the The Forum in Inglewood over the weekend--said the title will first be available on the PlayStaiton 4. The beta will be available to fans who pre-order the title.
