Facebook Brings Dead People Back To Life, Resurrects Thousands (Kinda)
In the biggest resurrection this side of the Second Coming, Facebook appears to have brought back all of the thousands of people that had suddenly been marked as "dead" on its site due to a bug on Friday by late afternoon. Facebook said there was a "terrible error" that it fixed after users suddenly were getting reports from their friends that they had died, and had become "Memorialized" on the social networking site. Facebook Shows Users As Dead, Even If They Are Alive
Users of Facebook might be surprised to see that their accounts are telling people they are dead, after it appears either a malfunction or hacking at Facebook started showing users as "memorialized" on Friday afternoon. Users across the social media site were being told by friends and family that their accounts were showing that they had just died just around 1pm on Friday. Masimo Gets $4.95M From Gates Foundation
Irvine-based medical equipment maker Masimo said today that it has received $4.95M in funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Masimo said the grant will go towards its efforts to develop a low-cost, pulse oximeter for use in pneumonia screening outside the U.S. Masimo said the device is still in development. The company said the new device will likely measure oxygen saturation (SpO2) and respiration rate (RR).

Rubicon Project: Record Breaking Video Advertising After U.S. Election
Los Angeles-based online advertising marketplace operator Rubicon Project says that it has seen record-breaking video advertising spend, following the U.S. Presidential Election, as people have been turning to video for information on the aftermath of the election. Rubicon Project said that Election Day was the single biggest day in its company history in terms of video spend, with roughly 85% of that video on mobile.
