Seismic Games Acquires Grue Games
Culver City-based Seismic Games announced on Thursday that it has acquired fellow, Los Angeles game development company Grue Games. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Both companies had worked together on the titles Skylanders Battlecast and Clan Wars for Call of Duty. As part of thea cquisition, Grue CEO John Linden becomes President of the combined company, with Trey Watkins heading up Grue's former develompent team. ZEFR Hires Two For Executive Team
Venice, California-based ZEFR, which develops software to identify, filter, and organize content for brands and content owners on YouTube and other online video sites, said today that it has hired two new executives to its senior team. Rubicon Project Powers New, Digital Billboards For Clear Channel
Los Angeles-based advertising marketplace operator Rubicon Project is powering the ad marketplace for a network of out-of-home, outdoors billboards owned by Clear Channel Outdoor Americas, Clear Channel announced on Wednesday. According to Clear Channel Outdoor Americas, it has launched a nationwide, programmatic buying solution which makes its digital billboard inventory available to programmatic ad buyers. Esri Rolls Out Elevation Data To Monitor Melting Ice, Glaciers In The Arctic
Redlands-based geographical information systems (GIS) software developer Esri said on Wednesday that it has rolled out a new set of data on Arctic elevation, to help monitor melting ice due to climate change in the polar region. According to Esri, it has teamed with the ArcticDEM project, a public-private initiative which aims to produce high-resolution, high quality digital elevation models (DEM) in the Arctic, to release the data. AutoGravity Debuts Car Financing App
Irvine-based AutoGravity, a fintech startup targeting the auto financing and loan market, says this morning that it has launched a mobile app which lets consumers apply for car loans using their smartphone. According to the company, its tool runs on iOS, Android, and through a responsive web app, and lets users find a new car, connect with a local dealership that sells that car, apply for financing, and select lenders for their purchase. Neustar Acquired By Golden Gate Capital For $2.9 Billion
Neustar, a provider of marketing data, risk management, DNS and DDoS protection services, and more--which has offices in Los Angeles and San Diego--has been acquired by Golden Gate Capital for approximately $2.9 billion. Neustar said Wednesday that Golden Gate Capital will pay $33.50 per share in cash for the publicly traded company, which trades on the NYSE as NSR. Neustar is based in Sterling, Virginia.
