Grab Green Products Raises $2.5M
Camarillo-based Grab Green, a developer of eco-friendly products, said last week that it has raised $2.5M in a financing round from Stoneway Capital. The company (whose corporate name is MaddieBrit Products, but goes by its brand name of Grab Green), said the funding will go to "significantly expand" marketing and worldwide sales. Kyriba Gets Funding From Mitsubishi UFJ Capital
Kyriba, a developer of cross border, cloud-based treasurey, cash, and risk management software, which has offices in San Diego, said today that it has received an investment from Mitsubishi UFJ Capital. Size of the Series D funding round investment was not announced. Kyriba's existing investors include BPIfrance, HSBC, BRED Banque Populaire, Daher Capital, Iris Capital, and Upfront Ventures. Kyriba is led by Chairman and CEO Jean-Luc Robert.

Lynda.com Hit By Password Breach
Online learning site Lynda.com, which is now part of LinkedIn/Microsoft, has been hit by a password breach, which compromised less than 55,000 accounts at the service. The hashed passwords spurred a reset of accounts on the site, as well as a wider warning to its users. Lynda said the breach also included information on contact information and courses viewed, according to an email sent to users. Lynda.com is headquartered in Carpinteria.

ViaSat, Boeing Make Progress On Satellite Launch Effort
Carlsbad-based ViaSat and Boeing said this morning that the two have completed a preliminary design review for the first of two new satellites, which it expects to launch in 2019. According to the two, the design review is the "first critical milestone" in launching the ViaSat-3 satellites, which will offer up Ka-band, high speed wireless services to the Americas and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The satellite work by Boeing Defense, Space & Security is being done in El Segundo.

Qualcomm, Lionsgate Team On Power Rangers VR
San Diego-based Qualcomm and Los Angeles-based Lionsgate said this morning that the two are in ap artnership, where they will power a new Power Rangers Virtual Reality (VR) experience, which will roll out at CES. The two said the VR experience will let audiences to "enter the zords of their favorite Power Ranger". Financial details of the collaboration were not announced. The companies said the Power Rangers VR experience was produced with VR and animation studio Reel FX.

OneRoof Energy Cuts Staff, Starts Winding Down Operations
San Diego-based residential solar power installer OneRoof Energy said late Friday that it has "significantlyr educed" its work force, and has begun winding down its operations, after it said it was unable to secure financing necessary to continue sales, marketing, and development. The company did not say how many people it laid off in the move. The company said it is now "considering various measures to preserve cash" and looking to "maximize the value of its assets." Ionis Pharmaceuticals Gets $28M From AstraZeneca
Carlsbad-based biopharmaceutical sdeveloper Ionis Pharmaceuticals said Friday that it has received $28M from AstraZeneca, folloing the completion of IND studies and licensing of an antisense drug for treating cancer. The company said that it is eligible to receive up to $137M more in additional development and regulatory milestone payments from AstraZenca associated with its drug, along with "low double digit" royalties from sales of the drug.
