YouTube Launches Subscription TV Service, YouTube TV
YouTube announced a new live TV streaming effort called YouTube TV this morning, at a big event at YouTube Space LA in Playa Vista, which was streamed to YouTube's offices in San Francisco and New York. Major Amazon S3 Outage Hits Internet
An outage at Amazon Web Services is causing major downtime across the cloud this morning, as sites which rely on the cloud storage service have been unable to reliably connect all morning. Such sites as the U.S. Securities And Exchange Commission, Slack, Quora, and many others, have been unavailable since Amazon reported "increased error rates" out of its US-EAST-1 zone. Double M Partners Raising New Fund
Los Angeles-based venture capital fund Double M Partners, which is run by Mark Mullen, is raising a new, $40M venture capital fund, according to a regulatory filing by the firm on Monday. The filing indicates that so far, $18.3M has been raised in the fund, from 49 different investors. Snap To Price On Wednesday, List On Thursday In IPO
Venice, California-based Snap--in what will be Southern California's biggest technology IPO, ever--is expected to price its IPO on Wednesday night, and start trading on Thursday morning. Kingston Digital Starts Shipping 2TB Flash Drives
Fountain Valley-based flash memory developer Kingston Digital, the flash memory arm of Kingston Technology Company, said it has begun shipping its gigantic, 2TB and 1TB flash drives. The company's DataTraveler Ultimate GT provides up to 2TB of storage and USB 3.1 Gen 1 performance. The company said that's enough storage to store up to 70 hours of 4K video. Tealium Gets Investment From Citi Ventures
San Diego-based software developer Tealium announced on Monday that it has scored a strategic investment from Citi Ventures, as part of Series E investment round. Size of the investment from Citi Ventures was not announced. Tealium, which makes enterprise tag management software, said the funding goes towards development efforts, marketing, product integration, and other efforts at the company.
