Faraday Future Cancels Plans For Manufacturing Plant In California
Los Angeles-based Faraday Future, the much-hyped developer of next generation, electric vehicles, has decided to shut down efforts to build a manufacturing plant in Vallejo, California, according to the company. The company said it will now focus on its first production vehicle and plant in North Las Vegas. EDF Renewable Services Ups Contracted Capacity to 10 Gigawatts
San Diego-based renewable energy services firm EDF Renewable Services, the operations and maintenance arm of EDF Renewable Energy, says it now has 10 gigawatts of capacity under contract. The company said its North American business has over 500 people in 27 U.S. states, four Canadian provinces, Mexico, and Chile servicing renewable energy installations. cloudvirga Raises $15M More For Mortgage Automation Tools
Irvine-based Cloudvirga, a developer of automated mortgage lending software, announced this morning that it has raised $15M more in a Series B funding. The funding was led by Incenter, a Blackstone Group portfolio company. The company said the funding goes to scale its technology and product offerings. The company has now raised $22.5M in total. The Virtual Reality Company Debuts New VR Series For Families
Los Angeles The Virtual Reality Company said this morning that it has released a new, animated virtual reality (VR) series, called Raising a Rukus. The company said it is the first to debut a series of the kind specifically for families. The Virtual Reality Company (VRC) previously had released the virtual reality series, The Martian VR for Twentieth Century Fox. Alteryx Sees Solid IPO Debut
Irvine-based data analytics software developer Alteryx had its IPO debut on Friday, debuting at $14.00 per share on the NYSE as AYX, and closing out the day at $15.50 per share. The company rose 10.71 percent in its IPO debut on the public markets. The public offering raised $126M for the company. Alteryx was venture backed by Insight Venture Partners, Sapphire Ventures, Thomson Reuters, Toba Capital, and ICONIQ Capital.

Sienna Biopharmaceuticals Names CFO
Westlake Village-based Sienna Biopharmaceuticals said Friday that it has named Richard Peterson as the company's new Chief Financial Officer. Peterson was most recent at Novan, where he also served as Chief Financial Officer, and also has served as CFO and Treasurer at Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation, in addition to serving as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Sienna says that Peterson will take over from John Smither, who is retiring, but will remain as an advisor.
