Sommetrics Scores $12.3M For Sleep Apnea Treatment
San Diego-based Sommetrics, a medical device manufacturer developing products to treat obstructive sleep apnea, has raised $12.3M in a Series B-1 funding. The company said the round came from both new and current investors, but did not disclose the names of those investors. The company said the funding will go towards completing development of the company's product offerings and for regulatory approvals. Sommetrics is led by President and CEO Dr. Richard Rose.

Hyperloop One Looks At 11 Possible Routes Through US
Los Angeles-based advanced transportation developer Hyperloop One says it has come up with eleven different, proposed routes throughout the United States, which it says could "greatly reduce passenger and cargo transit time" in the country. The company said its proposed routes include links between Los Angeles-San Diego, Miami-Orlando and Seattle-Portland. SpaceX Hopes To Turn Around Reusable Rocket Stages In Only 24 Hours
Hawthorne-based SpaceX is aiming for the ultimate in reusability, turning around its resuable rocket stages in as little as 24 hours, according to President Gwynne Shotwell. Shotwell said at a conference yesterday that the company is hoping to refly a rocket within 24 hours. (SpaceX landing the rocket stage for SES-10 on a barge in the Pacific, via SpaceX.)

SOCI Scores $8.5M For Social Media Management
San Diego-based SOCi, a developer of enterprise, social media management software, announced this morning that it has raised $8.5M in a Series A funding. The funding was co-led by Vertical Venture Partners and Grayhawk Capital. The funding also included the Stanford University DAPER fund, Peninsula Ventures, and Tallwave Capital. SOCi manages social media pages for multi-location and multi-tenant businesses. Afif Khoury is CEO of SOCi. The company was founded in 2012.

Uber, AEG In Partnership Deal For L.A. Live, StubHub Center
Los Angeles-based sports and entertainment venue operator AEG and rideshare transportation provider Uber announed a partnership on Wednesday, which makes Uber the "official rideshare and transportation provider" for 27 of AEG's venues and assets. The deal includes the STAPLES Center, L.A. LIVE, StubHub Center, LA Galaxy, LA Kings, and more. Financial details of the partnership were not announced.
