Okapi Ventures Backs Pegasus Solar In New Funding
Pegasus Solar, a developer of solar panel mounting systems, has scored funding from Southern California venture investor Okapi Ventures, the company said this week. Size of the Series A fundingw as not announced. The funding was led by Ecosystem Integrity Fund, and also included Okapi Capital, plus angels. Okapi's Marc Averitt sits on the company's board. Hyperloop One Names Winners Of Challenge, Inks Study Deal With Colorado
Los Angeles-based HyperLoop One, one of the startups working to bring Elon Musk's vision of a high speed, tube-based transportation system to life, says it has named a list of the ten most promising routes for Hyperloop, and also inked a feasibility study agreement in Colorado around its systems. SpaceX Shows Off Failures Which Led To Rocket Landing Success
SpaceX has just released a massive roll of video of all of the landing failures which occurred in its quest to land its Falcon 9 rockets, before it finally managed to reach success in landing its boosters. Elon Musk, who released the video early this morning, said it was a "long road to reusability" of the Falcon 9, and said the company is now working on reusing the upper stage and fairing of the Falcon 9.

Sophiris Bio Gets $10M Loan From Silicon Valley Bank
San Diego-based Sophiris Bio reported this morning that it has received $10M in two term loans from Silicon Valley Bank, to go towards manufacturing for its Phase 3 clinical trials. According to Sophiris Bio, it borrowed $7M of the amount on Tuesday. Sophiris is a biopharmaceuticals firm developing treatments for patients with urological disease. Sophiris is led by President and CEO Randall E. Woods.

Halozyme Gets $105M In Deal With Bristol-Myers Squibb
San Diego-based Halozyme Therapeutics announced this morning that it has entered into a global collaboration and license agreement with Bristol-Myers Squibb, where Bristol-Myers Squibb will pay it $105M to license its ENHANZE drug-delivery technology. In addition, Halozyme said it has the potential to earn an additional $160M in milestone payments in the deal, based on specific development, regulatory and sales-based milestones.
