Yardi Launches Housing Registry For Hurricane Irma
Santa Barbara-based real estate software developer Yardi says it has launched yet another website to help victims of a hurricane find housing. Yardi said that it has launched a dedicated housing registry for people who were displayed by Hurricane Irma, to help them find temporary or permanent homes in the affected and surrounding areas. Cie Digital Labs Names Entrepreneur In Residence
Irvine-based Cie Digital Labs (CDL) said this week that it has named Jim Davis as the company's new Entrepreneur in Residence. Davis previously served at at eBay and Pepsi, and is Managing Partner at early stage venture capital investor Rezven Partners. Cie Digital Labs, led by Anderee Berengian, recently has focused on helping brands and also startups take their ideas and turn them into new technology ventures.

Slacker Acquired By LiveXLive
San Diego-based online radio station and music streaming service Slacker Radio has been acquired by LiveXLive, the two companies announced on Friday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced, however, an SEC filing indicates the deal was worth around $50M, split between $44M in cash and $6M in stock. Report: Cornerstone OnDemand Hires Investment Bankers For Review
Santa Monica-based Cornerstone OnDemand has hired investment banking firms Centerview Partners and Goldman Sachs, in a move that could result in either a sale of the company, or help in fighting off an activist investor, according to a report. StartEngine Plans New Equity Crowdfunding Campaign, For Itself
Los Angeles-based StartEngine, the equity crowdfunding site led by serial entrepreneur Howard Marks, told its supporters on Friday that it is planning to launch a new, equity crowdfunding effort: for itself. EDF Renewable Energy Wins Wind Deal In Oklahoma
San Diego-based renewable energy developer EDF Renewable Energy has signed a big, 120 megawatt wind energy deal in Oklahoma. According to EDF Renewable Energy, it has signed an agreement to supply Kimberly-Clark Corporation with 120 MW of wind energy from the Rock Falls Wind Project in Oklahoma, the first use of utility-scale renewable energy by the Kimberly-Clark. Cornerstone OnDemand Wins University of Georgia
Santa Monica-based enterprise learning and human capital management software developer Cornerstone OnDemand said this mroning that it has been selected by the University of Georgia, to help support professional development and regulatory compliance at the school. Pelican Rolls Out New iPhone Case Line
Torrance-based Pelican, the manufacturer of high end protective cases, has rolled out its line of cases for Apple's new iPhone models. According to Pelican, it has rolled out a full line of cases, including the Voyager, Adventurer, Protector, Ambassador, Interceptor, as well as Pelican Shield for the iPhone X. The company's Pelican Shield for the iPhone X includes 5 layers of protection, including a layer of "military grade" Kevlar. Pelican is owned by private equity firm Behrman Capital.
