mitu Snags Former Nickelodeon Head As CEO
Los Angeles-based mitu, which is developing a digital media brand specifically focused on Latino millennials, has snagged Herb Scannell, the former President of Nickelodeon, as its new CEO. Scannell was also previously co-founder and CEO of Next New Networks (sold to YouTube in 2011) and was President of BBC Worldwide North America. Edmunds Jumps On AR Bandwagon
Santa Monica-based car information and shopping site Edmunds has jumped on the augmented reality (AR) bandwagon today, saying it is launching a new AR feature for its iPhone app, which will help shoppers see what a vehicle will look like--and if it will fit--anywhere they might want to park it. Swagbucks Hits $200M In Cash Back, Gift Cards To Members
El Segundo-based online rewards site Swagbucks--which is owned by Prodege, the company run by Chuck Davis, the former CEO of Fandango and Shopzilla--said today that it has now paid out more than $200M in cash and gift cards to its members. The site provides reward points to consumers for shopping, searching the web, sharing their opinions, playing games, and more. Prodege also operates such sites as MyPoints.com and ShopAtHome.com.

Zefr Taps Former Fox Networks Exec As President
Venice Beach-based Zefr, which provides contextual targeting software for brands advertising on YouTube, has named former Fox Networks executive Toby Byrne as the company's new President, the company said this morning. Tourmaline Labs Raises Funding, Names New CEO
San Diego-based Tourmaline Labs, a startup developing location-aware smartphone software for mobile apps hsa raised a round of funding, and appointed a new CEO. According to Torumaline Labs, it has received an investment from ClearVision Equity Partners, and appointed Marc Brungger as its new CEO. Size and details of the funding were not announced. PhotoSpring Adds Videos To Photo Frames
Los Angeles-based PhotoSpring, a startup developing "next-generation" digital photo frames, says it has rolled out a Wi-Fi connected, photo frame which automatically selects your photos and videos, and plays them through a digital photo frame. According to PhotoSpring, it has created a new digital photo frame which integrates with apps on the iPhone, Android, Mac, and Windows, which automatically selects photos and videos for that photo frame without user intervention. Triton Digital Wins New Customer
Los Angeles-based Triton Digital, the provider of audio advertising technology, reported a win today with Neuhoff Communications. According to Triton Digital, Neuhoff has selected the company's enterprise podast management solution, to capture, edit, and distribute content to its audience. Financial impact of the win was not announced. Nehoff Communications is the operator of 22 radio stations and related websites across central Illinois and Indiana.
