March Capital Partners Backs Activehours In New Funding
Santa Monica-based March Capital Partners has joined in another funding round for Palo Alto-based Activehours, as part of a $39M funding. Activehours said the new, $39M investment round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, and also included Matrix Partners, Ribbit Capital and March Capital Partners. Activehours offers up a mobile-app driven service which lets people access their paychecks, even before those paychecks are deposited in their account. Tuition.io Gets $7M In Series B Funding
Santa Monica-based Tuition.io, which helps employers offer up student loan repayment assistance as part of their employee benefits, has raised $7M in a Series B funding round, the company said today. The funding was led by Wildcat Venture Partners, and also included Mohr Davidow Ventures and MassMutual Ventures LLC, the corporate venture capital arm of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company. Belkin Rolls Out High Speed HDMI Cable For Apple TV 4K
Los Angeles-based Belkin announced a new, high speed HDMI cable today, which it says is designed to connect Apple TV 4K, Mac or HDMI devices a TV or A/V receiver. The company said its cable is specifically optimized for the Apple TV 4K, and is compatible with the Dolby Vision high dynamic range technology. The new cable has an MSRP of $29.95. Belkin is selling the cable through its own web site, in addition to Apple Stores and Apple.com.

ThreatSTOP Blocks Malicious DNS
Carlsbad-based cybersecurity software developer ThreatSTOP announced on Wednesday that it has rolled out a new software product, which detects and automatically blocks malicious DNS queries. According to the company, its new ThreatSTOP Roaming Defense protects laptops and off-premise devises against ransomware, phishing, malware and data theft. Scientist.com Launches New Compliance Feature
San Diego-based Scientist.com, which operates a marketplace for outsourced scientific services, said this morning that it has launched a new feature to ensure ethical sourcing of human biosamples. The company said its new COMPLI feature will "significantly reduce" issues with obtaining human biological samples, such as organs, tissues and genetic material, ensuring donor consent and compliance with internal and external (often legislative) procurement policies.
