Vyng Gets $3M For Social Video Ringtones
Santa Monica-based Vyng, the developer of a social video ringtone product, said on Tuesday that it has raised $3M in a seed funding round. The funding was led by March Capital Partners, and also included BAM Ventures, HOF Capital, Inspiration Ventures, along with such angels as Alex Chung (Giphy), Steve Martocci (GroupMe), and Mark Goldston (NetZero). Vyng's first app lets users get a personalized "video ringtone" when friends call their smartphone.

Zadara Storage Offers Up Free Storage To Those Hit By Hurricanes
Irvine-based Zadara Storage, the provider of enterprise storage-as-a-service, says it will offer up up to 1 petabyte of storage for free for the next six months, for those businesses hit by Hurricanes Irma, Harvey and Maria. According to Zadara, organizations in Florida, Texas and Puerto Rico can use its services at no charge for six months while they rebuild their business infrastructure. ImaginAb Finds $8M For Immunotherapy Imaging
Inglewood-based ImaginAb, which is developing a cell imaging agent used for imaging changes in cell tumors, has raised $8M in a funding round, the firm said on Monday. The funding was led by Adage Capital, and also included the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, NVF, Cycad Group, Nextech Invest, and Jim Pallotta of the Raptor Group. HIPPEAS Raises $10M More
Los Angeles-based Hippeas, which makes chickpea-based, organic food snacks, has raised another $10M in funding, according to a report today. The funding reportedly came from CAVU Venture Partners. HIPPEAS previously raised funding from such investors as Strand Equity Partners and Leonardo DiCaprio. The company's organic food snacks are found widely in such chains as Starbucks, Whole Foods, Wegmans, Albertson's, Safeway, and elsewhere. The company announced its earlier funding in May.

Report: Venture Capital Dollars In 2017 On Way To Record
Total venture capital investment dollars in 2017 are on their way to a decade high, according to a new report issued today, with $21.5 billion invested in the third quarter in more than 1,699 companies. The 3Q 2017 PitchBook-NVCA Venture Monitor report said the latest quarter worths of investment brings 2017's total to $61.4 billion across 5,948 deals to date. Ixia's Parent Firm, Keysight Technologies, Hit By Fires
Keysight Technologies, the parent company of Calabasas-based Ixia, has been hit by the devastating fires in Santa Rosa, California, and has shut down its headquarters while it attempts to figure out what kind of damage was sustained at the location. Keysight acquired Ixia in January of this year for $1.6 billion. Raytheon Selected By DigitalGlobe For New Satellite Constellation
Raytheon Company, which has its satellite operations in El Segundo, said today that it has been selected by earth imaging satellite provider DigitalGlobe, to act as the payload provider for DigitalGlobe. Raytheon said it will deliver the telescopes, detectors and combined electronics to Space Systems Loral, the WorldView Legion space vehicle integrator, as part of a new contract with DigitalGlobe.
