NHN Hires CEO, Looks To Expand

Irvine-based online video game publisher NHN USA, the North American subsidiary of Korean Internet firm NHN, said Monday that it has hired a new CEO and is looking to expand at its Irvine location. According to NHN USA, it has appointed Philip Yun as CEO at the firm, which runs the online game portal offers free online multiplayer games. Yun joins the firm from NHN Korea, and has also served at Sony Computer Entertainment. Yun will be based in Irvine. According to a spokesperson for the firm, NHN currently has about 60 staff in its offices here, including in publishing, marketing, and operations. The firm said it plans on adding new staff and products as part of a growth plan for 2009.
