    Nirvanix In OEM Software Deal


    San Diego-based Nirvanix reported Tuesday that the firm has inked a deal to provide its online storage service to Silicon Mountain Holdings, a provider of branded computer products According to Nirvanix, Silicon Mountain is using its product to power a web-based digital locker service, myStorango. Silicon Mountain's service will provide small and medium businesses and consumers with Internet-based data protection. The service is being sold with Silicon Mountain's network attached storage devices. Nirvanix is venture backed by Intel Capiatl and others, and competes against Amazon S3 in offering a developer-accessible API and storage-as-a-service model.
