San Diego-based Nirvanix, which operates a cloud storage service, said today that it has named Steve Zivanic as the firm's new Vice President of Marketing. Zivanic was most recent senior director of Corporate Communications at QLogic. He also previously served at DataDirect Networks and Hitachi Data Systems (HDS). Nirvanix said Steve will be responsible for strategic marketing initiatives and driving brand awareness for the company. Nirvanix operates a cloud storage service, which allows developers to store their data on the Internet via an API; the company also serves the corporate market, and competes with Amazon's cloud storage service, S3.
