    Nirvanix Targets Enterprise Backup

San Diego-based Nirvanix, a provider of Internet storage services, said Tuesday that the firm has rolled out a new offering targeted at enterprise customers. Nirvanix said its new Storage Delivery Network (SDN) for Enterprises product provides archival and backup storage for enterprises, and offers access via FTP, virtual CIFS/NFS drive mounts, and its open API for enterprise customers. Nirvanix is a provider of storage-as-a-service services, which it offers via an application programming interface to other web sites and services; the company's offering competes with Amazon's S3 storage service. Nirvanix is venture funded by Intel Capital, the European Founders Fund, Mission Ventures, Valhalla Partners, and Windward Ventures.
