San Diego-based Novatel Wireless, which develops wireless broadband cards and other products, announced this morning that it has added Russell C. Gerns to its board of directors. Gerns has served at Scientific Data Systems/Xerox, Computer Machinery Corporation, Cipher Data Products, and Rexon/Legacy Storage Systems. Gerns was also a professor at Pepperdine University, and is on the Board of Advisors at UCLA Anderson's Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. Novatel develops USB modems, modules, and is behind Verizon's heavily promoted personal, mobile hotspot offering.
