San Diego-based Novatel Wireless announced a new wireless module this morning, aimed at the remote asset monitoring market. The firm, which develops wireless modems used to provide data connectivity over cell phone networks, said its new telemetry solutions are aimed at industrial automation, vending machines, oil & gas pipelines and energy and smart grid applications. Novatel's new SA-G+ device runs on CDMA2000 1X networks. Pricing of the new module was not disclosed. Novatel is best known for its MiFi mobile hotspot products.
