Oculus Buys Carbon Design
Irvine-based virtual reality technology developer Oculus VR--now owned by Facebook--said Tuesday that it has acquired the team behind Carbon Design, an industrial design and product engineering team. According to Oculus, the team will become a "key component" of the product engineering group at Oculus, and will operate out of Seattle. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Carbon Design's project include the Xbox 360's game controller. Oculus VR, in its post announcing the buy, said the company is recruiting across all of its locations, in Irvine, San Francisco, Seattle, and Dallas.
