    Opposing Views Takes $1.25M

Los Angeles-based Opposing Views said today that it has closed a Series A financing round, and raised $1.25M. According to the firm, the funding came from Frontera Group, Gil Elbaz, the co-founder of Applied Semantics; Russell Fine, the CEO of Opposing Views; and other unnamed technology investors. Opposing Views is focused on developing a web site that allows people to get expert answers on politics, health, personal finance, parenting, and other topics. Russell Fine was the co-founder of YouBet.com. Opposing Views said the funding will go to launching the firm's web site, recruiting its first 100 experts, and for media partnerships.
