Passenger Adds $8.3M

Los Angeles-based Passenger, a firm developing software-as-a-service tools that allows companies to add private social community features to their web sites, said today that it has raised $8.3M in a Series B funding. The round was led by Steamboat Ventures, and also included Shelter Capital Partners and StarVest Partners. Passenger said that the funding will be used to accelerate sales and product development efforts, as well as to add a New York office. Dan Beldy of Steamboat and Larry Bettino of StarVest will join the firm's board as part of the funding. The funding round brings the company's total raised to $12.5M. Steamboat Ventures is the venture capital arm of Walt Disney Company. More information »
