Patent Suit Spawned By NTI Group Buy Settled

A patent lawsuit against educational software provider Blackboard, which was spawned by the acquisition of Sherman Oaks-based NTI Group last year, has been settled, according to Texas-based TechRadium. TechRadium, which had sued Blackboard in May after it acquired emergency messaging provider NTI Group for $182M, said that the two firms have agreed to cross-license several patents and patent applications. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. TechRadium said the move would allow each company to continue to provide mass notification technology and services to clients. TechRadium also has a similar lawsuit pending against micro blogging site Twitter.
