Phorus Debuts New Wireless Home Audio Speaker

Encino-based Phorus, the developer of wireless home audio speaker technology which is now owned by DTS, said it has launched a new product called the Phorus PS5. The new speaker lets users stream audio from their iOS, Android, and Windows PCs to multiple rooms over Wi-Fi. The company is promoting the new speaker line with a music video from the group Run River North. Phorus said the new speaker will be available in December directly from the firm, from Amazon.com, and other retailers, for $229. DTS has mostly been using Phorus as a demonstration platform for its DTS Play-Fi technology, which it licenses to many other speaker and audio manufacturers.
