Platinum Equity Buys Kodak's Image Sensor Business
Los Angeles-based private equity firm Platinum Equity has acquired the image sensor business of Kodak, Kodak said Monday. Financial details of the deal were not announced by the firms. Kodak said its Image Sensor Solutions (ISS) business will "sharpen its operational focus" and strengthen its financial position. The deal includes a 263,000 square foot facility in Rochester, New York. Kodak's image sensor group works on solid state image sensors, which are used in photography, DNA sequencing, digital radiography, and other wide ranges of businesses.
