PlayVS Finds $15M For High School eSports Infrastructure

Los Angeles-based PlayVS, which is developing eSports infrastructure centered around creating an official high school eSports league, has raised $15M in a Series A funding. The funding was led by New Enterprise Associates, and also included startup studio Science Inc, CrossCut Ventures, Coatue Management, Cross Culture Ventures, the San Francisco 49ers, Nas, Michael Dubin of Dollar Shave Club, Kevin Lin of Twitch, and other angels. PlayVS has created a set of rules and regulations--plus infrastructure--for eSports, and has partnered with the National Federation of State High School Associations to make those the official rules for eSports at the high school level.
