Practical Instruments Raises $8M

Pasadena-based Practical Instruments has raised $8M in a Series A financing, the firm said this morning. The round came from RockPort Capital Partners and Nth Power, which led the venture capital round, along with Trinity Ventures and Rincon Venture Partners. Practical Instruments is developing solar concentrators for the energy market. Practical Instruments said that the funding will go towards the production of its Practical Instruments claims that its technology dramatically reduces installation time, materials, and costs for photovoltaic panels.
