San Juan Capistrano-based Predixion Software, the developer of predictive analytics software headed by Simon Arkell, said Wednesday that it has updated its platform. According to the firm, the new version of its software now allows users to create applications inside Microsoft Excel and supports a much wider range of external data sources, among other updates. Predixion's products are aimed at making business intelligence and analytics more available to users, allowing non-technical users to create their own data visualization. The firm is one of the companies to come out of Frost Venture Partners, the big data startup incubator headed by Stuart Frost.
