Los Angeles-based shopping comparison site PriceGrabber.com launched a new travel comparison shopping site this morning, making it possible for travelers to compare air and hotel options from various companies on the web. The move puts it into competition in the crowded online travel space, and companies such as Orbitz, Travelocity, and Expedia. The company's travel site searches and aggregates travel options from various online web sites and partners. The company is also featuring FlightStats on-time ratings as a part of its travel search, to allow for filtering of flights by on-time rankings. However, a spot check of the site by socalTECH this morning found it unable to provide any flight information for popular flights out of LAX or Burbank, and an inability to pull up any hotel information.
