PriceGrabber, the online comparison shopping site based in Los Angeles, reported today that it saw a 14 percent year-over-year growth in traffic from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday shopping. The company said the growth indicates that more consumers are using the Internet for research, price comparisons, and purchasing gifts. The company said Cyber Monday was its biggest day last week, with 20 percent more traffic than Black Friday. PriceGrabber is not the only online comparison shopping, coupon, and other site to see gains this season; comScore reports overall industry traffic grew 28% on Black Friday and 17% on Cyber Monday; PayPal was reporting 190% increas in mobile payment volumes compared with last year; and coupon and deals site RetailMeNot reported 39% traffic growth in the same period.
