    Prolacta Bioscience Raises $12M


    Monrovia-based Prolacta Bioscience has raised $12M in a funding round, the firm said today, in a round led by Alta Partners. The round also included DFJ Frontier, Arcturus Capital, DFJ Mercury, Funk Ventures, Phillip Capital, Gideon Hixon Fund, and Draper Associates L.P., along with other investors. Prolacta is developing a human milk fortifier made from human milk, for use in neonatal intensive care units. Alison de Bord of Alta Partners has joined the company's board along with the funding.
