Pulse Electronics Buys Austrian Firm

San Diego-based Pulse Electronics, a supplier of electronic components to the communications, power, military, and other industries, said over the weekend that it has acquired Austrian company Egston Holdings, a provider of magnetic and cable assembly products to the electric vehicles (EV), automotive, industrial, and power magnetics markets. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Pulse Electronics said Egston had 2017 revenues of approximately $85M, and has 1400 employees. Pulse said Egston will operate as an independent business unit, and will be renamed Egston a Pulse Electronics Company. Pulse Electronics is owned by private equity investor Oaktree Capital Management.
